DRCN 2020 – online

Dear DRCN Chairs, Speakers, Authors, Attendees,

As we know, the outbreak of COVID-19, worldwide and in the Milan region in particular, is still spreading at high rates. Measures and rules set up by local and national authorities are restricting mobility of people. Politecnico di Milano has suspended all teaching activities and canceled all events “in presence”.
Given this situation, the Organizing and Steering Committees have decided to move DRCN 2020, including paper presentations, completely on the web. In fact, we are setting up a webinar service where all speakers will present their papers on-line, but live, allowing questions from on-line attendees and answers from on-line speakers.
The on-line presentation will be fully equivalent to an on-site presentation, guaranteeing publication of the paper on conference proceedings and IEEE Xplore.
The scheduling of the presentations has been revised to adapt to the new on-line mode, and the new final program is already available on the conference web-site.
All registered speakers and attendees will receive information to connect to the webinar platform and to attend all the presentations.
Despite this difficult situation makes DRCN 2020 an unusual edition, we believe the technical program of this conference is interesting and valid. Thus, we invite all researches and students of our community to join the meeting in large number, taking advantage of the highly-discounted on-line fees, so to make the conference a lively event against all odds!
Our final thoughts go to all those who are suffering from this disease, their relatives and also the sanitary personnel who is bravely fighting on the front line: we wish we will overcome soon!

With our best regards
Guido Maier, Martin Maier (on behalf of the whole DRCN 2020 Organizing Committee)

It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the 16th edition of DRCN the “International Conference on the Design of Reliable Communication Networks” which will take place March 24th to 27th, 2020 in Milan, Italy.

The aim of the conference is to bring together people from various disciplines, ranging from engineering of survivable equipment and network technologies to network management and monitoring, through methods and models for survivable and robust network design.
